Sometimes the Right Idea
Shows Up Right on Time
1LnE didn’t start with a business plan or a brainstorming session. It started with a conversation, a shared vision — and two cupcakes.
Michele Bilow and Eric Muller had been tossing around the idea of starting a business together for a while. Both brought complementary strengths, similar values, and a shared frustration with how businesses were forced to juggle disconnected systems, tools, and vendors just to function.
Then, one night, while out to dinner celebrating Eric’s birthday, something unexpected happened. Toward the end of the meal, the waitress brought over cupcakes — leftovers from another party. She didn’t know it was Eric’s birthday. She didn’t know anything about the conversation they’d been having. She simply placed them on the table.
Each of them grabbed one.
Michele looked down at her cupcake and noticed it was topped with the letter E. She showed Eric. Eric looked at his cupcake. It had one L.
Michele — whose name is spelled with one L. Eric — whose name starts with E.
